LEMA UK FURNISHES THE MAKERS SHOW-FLAT, PART OF AN EXCLUSIVE NEW RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX IN THE HEART OF SHOREDITCH.

Lema’s collaboration on The Makers, a luxurious new residential development tucked away in City Road, between the vibrant and dynamic area of Shoreditch and the financial district of the City of London, confirms its status as a key player in the London contract sector. Thanks to its direct presence in the city, the company has been able to develop exclusive partnerships with architects, developers and contractors in recent years, building a reputation as a reliable supplier of products suited to the property development and hotel sectors. As a result, Lema has become one of the biggest Italian operators in London – the undisputed global design capital – in terms of sales volume. Built by Londonewcastle, a well-known developer with over 2,800 housing units worth £2.39 billion across 12 residential developments to be delivered within the next five years, The Makers aims to become a new residential hub for the neighbourhood that inspired its contemporary living concept, based around openness and sharing. The goal is to offer the ideal lifestyle environment for the creative community that helped fuel Shoreditch’s success. The complex encompasses two buildings, including a 28-storey tower featuring 175 residences, from studios to three-bedroom apartments, and a number of duplex residences, with 42 layout variants. Drawing on the strong links between its Home and Contract divisions, Lema UK has devised a lifestyle vision for the new residential complex’s show-flat. And for the first time on the British market, Lema is offering new owners the opportunity to purchase a complete interior package courtesy of the bespoke design service offered in the brand’s King’s Road flagship store in the heart of Chelsea. Lema has created two interior concepts for the different sizes of apartments, both of which share an elegant style. Lema has teamed up with N20 Arts and Osborne & Little on wallpaper and fabrics, with Gong for lights, with GT Design for carpets and with Beaufort Interiors for curtains and fabrics. On top of that, tapping into the technical expertise the company has built up over the years, Lema was also involved in the design and supply of all custom-made wardrobes for the complex, to be delivered by spring. For Lema, The Makers represents a prestigious new case story that confirms the company’s ability to support real-estate operators and developers as part of customised projects where tailored, tailor-made service is the key feature. Lema’s industrial operation, expertise in the production of systems and relationship management with designers, who are supported at every stage of the project, represent strategic drivers for the company. “Lema is increasingly a leading player in the contract sector in the United Kingdom,” says Lema president Angelo Meroni. “Lema Contract is able to satisfy any aesthetic and functional requirements, adhering to the highest quality standards in all areas of a project. The special thing about The Makers is that for the first time in London, our Home and Contract divisions have worked hand in hand to paint a complete lifestyle vision for buyers. We worked extensively and successfully with the developers, Londonewcastle, with whom we shared a common vision and a passion for quality and elegant, understated style. It’s this style that shines through in the show-flat, thanks to a range of warm and earthy tones supplemented with contrast pieces, a combination that contributes to the sophisticated look of the project as a whole.”
