LEMA UK CONTRACT TEAMS UP ON NEW CLAYTON CITY HOTEL IN LONDON

Lema has obtained another prestigious project in the hospitality sector in London, where – thanks to its direct presence in the city – the brand has established itself as a key supplier on some of the city’s top projects. Lema’s Contract Division worked with well-known architecture firm Dexter Moran Associates on the new four-star Clayton Hotel City of London, which has 212 rooms and suites. Managed by Maldron Hotels & Partners, Clayton Hotel City of London is situated in Aldgate, a location which benefits from proximity to the city’s financial hub yet remains in the heart of the East End, near to the historic Spitalfields, Petticoat Lane and Brick Lane markets. In accordance with the brief provided by Dexter Moran Associates, the contemporary interior design project was inspired by the many Victorian textile warehouses that operated in this part of London during the 19th century. Lema took care of the design and installation of bespoke furnishings for the 212 rooms and suites, including the wardrobes and bathroom furniture. Lema’s Contract Division was also involved in the design of the bar area and restaurant, installing a unique, majestic main bar. Lema also provided customised items for the hotel’s communal bathrooms, including doors, windows, round mirrors, shelves and marble sills with iron profiling. This new challenge further expands Lema Contract’s ever-growing UK portfolio. Thanks to its on-the-ground presence in London, Lema is now one of the biggest Italian companies in the city in terms of sales volume for residential and hospitality contract projects. Clayton Hotel City of London was nominated at the prestigious International Design Excellence Awards 2019 in the Rooms and Suites category.
