SESTO: new formal archetype

Sesto by Piero Lissoni represents the archetype of the table in its formal essentiality. Strong contemporary design, created with impeccable elegance, it is characterised by the lightness of the rectangular top supported by the double trestle base.

The seemingly simple architecture hides a sophisticated detail in the construction of the leg, in which the T-element supporting the top inserts into the trestle. Another uniqueness is achieved by the juxtaposition of the materials: the extra-light glass top, the wooden legs and the support in metal.

    Sesto is a table with two fundamental elements: legs and top. It is built by virtue of an architectural staircase and it maintains this language by bringing it to the minimum essence: two legs that cross, a beam that holds them together distributing the weight and over a floor, exactly like a building. It is not by chance that he is called Sesto, as he is arches.
