italian Design Day
The Italian Embassy in London celebrated Italian Design Day (IDD) on the 9th of March 2023, one of the main events promoted each year by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture, together with ICE, the ADI Foundation - Compasso D'Oro Collection, the Milan Triennale, the Milan Furniture Fair and Federlegno Arredo.
The theme of this years’ edition was "The quality that illuminates. The energy of design for people and the environment", in this edition the Idd focused on the many links between design and light, energy and sustainability in the production process and on the role of people as users of design objects.
For the event, the Italian embassy in the United Kingdom hosted Piero Lissoni, in conversation with Cajsa Carlson of Dezeen.
Indeed, several design objects were exhibited, designed by Lissoni for famous Italian brands present in the United Kingdom.
Lema was the absolute protagonist with an exhibition dedicated to the elegant Sesto table and the contemporary Ombra chairs both designed by Piero Lissoni, Lema’s Art Director since 1994.
